Already known in the Mediterrean region in the bronze age, 3000 years ago.
Today, smoked spelt-wheat is harvested mainly in South West Germany and also again in Austria. By tradition, the unripe grain is harvested and smoked.

Grains in a husk, green to greenish-brown in colour, as it is harvested before it is fully ripe.

Intense and slightly malty in taste |

For soups, stews, as a side-dish etc. |

| Contents: |
Smoked spelt-wheat is high in protein, potassium, phosphorus and iron. Basically, it contains the same nutrients as ripe spelt-wheat.
